DJs

DJs is the category for live DJ sets - creators spinning, mixing and scratching tracks for their chat, from club and house music to hip-hop and everything in between.

The category ties in with Twitch's DJ Program, which Twitch launched in 2024 together with music rights holders so DJs can stream sets with licensed music and stay within the rules. Before that, DJ streams lived in the broader Music category and were frequently at risk of copyright takedowns.

On August 8th (8.08), Twitch celebrates its annual "8.08 Week" to mark the official launch anniversary of its dedicated Twitch DJ Program. It is a reference to the popular Roland TR-808 drum machine, which revolutionized hip-hop and electronic music.
