Twitch Global Emote

ANELE shows Anele Andeshmand, an early Twitch employee who looked after partnered streamers; Twitch Support's posts from 2013 and 2014 send partners to him. The name is simply his first name in capitals. His X profile now calls him 'ex-Papa Bear @Twitch'.

In an interview he explained that Twitch staff could upload their own emote as an employee benefit, and that he picked a photo of himself in a white beanie. Shrunk down to chat size, the beanie is easily mistaken for a turban, and chat has misused the emote because of that. Andeshmand addressed it himself in February 2014: 'my emote was a white beanie, it just happened to look like a turban'.
