Twitch Global Emote

BegWan arrived on 30 March 2017 in a batch of eleven new global emotes, most with Japanese-style names: KonCha, PunOko, TehePelo, InuyoFace, Kappu, BigPhish, SabaPing, TearGlove, BegWan, ThankEgg and ArigatoNas. Twitch never explained the set, and viewers were left guessing where it came from.

The name combines English 'beg' with 'wan', the Japanese sound of a dog's bark, and viewers read it as a dog straight away. Chat uses it as a pleading 'please' emote, and streamers use it to ask for follows and shares: 'Need 50 followers to become Partner! Help me please~ BegWan'.
