Twitch Global Emote

BOP is named after the internet slang 'bop': a catchy, danceable song, a banger. It appeared in February 2020 ('that reminded me of the "BOP" emote from twitch') without any announcement, and Twitch never said who designed it or what it was made for.

In chat it is the reaction to music: viewers post it when a song, alert or DJ set slaps. Twitch's own account counts it among its favourites. Asked which emotes it would pick in 2025, @Twitch answered 'Probably a BleedPurple, DinoDance, and BOP!', and it once replied to a T-Pain music post with 'This sure is a BOP. All caps.'
