Twitch Global Emote

CoolCat is chat's emote for being smooth, unbothered and effortlessly cool. It arrived in July 2015 without an announcement and was an instant hit: 'CoolCat is an actual emote. What lmao', 'greatest emote of all time OF ALL TIME', 'From now on we're all going to communicate through the CoolCat emote.' Within days it was spammed so hard that the SMITE chat banned it, leaving one viewer to complain 'I just want to use CoolCat'.

In 2026 it became one of Twitch's marquee legacy emotes. At TwitchCon Rotterdam 2026 Twitch announced the Mythic Train, a rare Hype Train that 'will reward contributors with a bonus golden version of an emote, either PogChamp, CoolCat, or WutFace, which can then be used across Twitch for 24 hours'.
