EWCcrush is tied to the Esports World Cup (EWC), the multi-game tournament run by the Esports Foundation. EWC 2026 ran from 6 July to 23 August 2026 with 24 games, 25 tournaments, more than 2,000 players and a prize pool of over $75 million. The organizer's own pages disagree on the venue: its Creator Program press release names Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, while its schedule page says Riyadh. Twitch is one of the platforms in the EWC Creator Program, in which co-streamers complete missions on a Battle Pass for rewards.

What 'crush' refers to is not explained in any official source, and neither Twitch nor EWC announced the emote. Trackers suggest it was available around EWC 2025 (June 2025) and again for EWC 2026 (July 2026).
