Twitch Global Emote

GivePLZ and its partner TakeNRG were picked together in Twitch's '3rd Annual Global Emoticon Vote', held live at the Twitch Town Hall at PAX West on 2 September 2016: 'The decision is happening NOW!' That night Twitch announced that 'GivePLZ' and 'TakeNRG' 'were voted as global emotes today at #PAXWest2016', wrapping the post in the reaching-hands text faces ༼ つ◕_◕ ༽つ of chat's old 'take my energy' spam. The names spell out the two halves of that gesture. Who designed them was never stated.

In practice the pair brackets a message, sending support, luck or energy to someone: 'GivePLZ C9 TAKE MY ENERGY TakeNRG', 'GivePLZ IMT TAKE MY ENERGY TakeNRG'. Within days it stretched to all kinds of giving and wanting: '*grabby hands* GivePLZ twitch pin TakeNRG', 'Birthday hugs GivePLZ', or 'GivePLZ TakeNRG Does that help?' for CohhCarnage during a power outage.
