Twitch Global Emote

HeyGuys is the face of Twitch's first recruiter, who would greet people with 'Hey guys'. Twitch called her 'the iconic face behind HeyGuys' in January 2017, when Atrioc sat down with her to learn where the emote came from. Her X profile, @HeyGuysTwitch, reads 'The face of the HeyGuys emote on Twitch | Professional Matchmaker | Former Director @Twitch', and in 2026 she confirmed the story: 'Can confirm this is all true. I was also the first recruiter at Twitch so I would welcome new employees to the company'.

The emote went global in late November 2014. A week later she posted: 'I'm loving my 15 minutes of fame!! The #HeyGuys emote on @Twitch is trending at 21 #HeyGuys per minute!!' Twitch's help center lists HeyGuys as a casual greeting for joining a chat or welcoming someone, Twitch made it a Youtooz collectible in 2022, and a HeyGuys bust stood at TwitchCon 2024.
