Twitch Global Emote

RaccAttack is Twitch's raccoon emote, a pun on 'raccoon' and 'attack'. It arrived in October 2014 ('RaccAttack is a glorious new emote', 'new global emote, RaccAttack') and was an instant favorite: 'RaccAttack best emote', '1000x the emote that HeyGuys is'. That December it worked with Twitch's temporary holiday hat ('Try "SantaHat RaccAttack"'). Twitch never said where it came from. Viewers kept tagging the streamer @BlackLiteAttack in RaccAttack posts, but that link was never confirmed.

In chat it stands for gleeful chaos and mischief, playing on the raccoon's 'trash panda' reputation: spammed in rows, raised like a banner ('\RaccAttack/'), and adopted as a group badge, with one circle of friends splitting into a 'RaccAttack clan' and the CoolCat people. On 22 September 2016 Twitch swapped in the current image, and fans protested loudly: 'Alright @Twitch. Who changed RaccAttack.', 'Twitch changed RaccAttack… It looks worse', 'CHANGE RACCATTACK BACK'.
