Twitch Global Emote

SMOrc stands for 'Space Marine Orc': the face is generally identified as an Ork from Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine (THQ/Relic, 2011). TwitchTV streamed an 'exclusive sneak peak of Warhammer 40k: Space Marine' in September 2011, a few months after it launched. Neither Twitch nor THQ ever confirmed the link, but the very low emote ID (52) puts SMOrc among Twitch's earliest emotes.

Hearthstone later made it its own: to 'SMOrc' is to ignore the board and hit the enemy hero in the face with an aggressive deck. Blizzard's official Hearthstone account still asks 'do we still SMORC?' (2026). Twitch ranked SMOrc 18th in its Top Global Emotes of 2017.
