Twitch Global Emote

UncleNox is named after NoxiusInfernus, a longtime member of the Twitch community who has gone by 'Uncle Nox' since at least 2013 ('Uncle Nox always gets a cut', 'As your uncle, I am greatly concerned', '*Uncle Mode Activated*'). Friends tagged NoxiusInfernus in UncleNox posts ('UncleNox meet DiscoNox'), though NoxiusInfernus never directly claimed it. The X bio's 'I don't wear pants' matches the goofy-uncle persona. The emote appeared in November 2013 ('UncleNox is my new favorite emoticon'), and a new version went live on 22 September 2016: 'Woo! @Twitch the new UncleNox emote is live! :D just in time for #TwitchCon2016'.

In chat, especially in Dota 2 streams, it is a smug, mock-wise uncle reaction, a wry 'nice try' or a jab at a braggart: 'win a LAN before you talk UncleNox'. Viewers who didn't know the origin saw other people in it: 'it looks like Kenny (from the walking dead game) is doing a Kappa face'.
