This badge was made available during the Power Rangers marathon on the TwitchPresents channel, which started March 14 (18:00 UTC) and streamed every episode in Power Rangers history back to back, 831 episodes across 23 seasons over 13 days. Subscribers to the channel could equip a Ranger badge for a limited time, and the Black Ranger was one of several ranger colors in the set. The exact way a specific ranger color was obtained is not officially documented.
The marathon was held to celebrate the launch of TwitchPresents, Twitch's channel for marathon content and special screenings. Subscribers also received a set of Power Rangers themed emotes during the event.
