Viewers voted on the expected winner of each category, such as Game of the Year, Best RPG and Most Anticipated Game, through the interactive The Game Awards 2017: Community Predicts extension on channels co-streaming the show, which started on December 8 (01:30 UTC). The winning community received the badge for one month before it was removed.
It was added for the 2017 edition of The Game Awards, the first year Twitch offered a prediction extension alongside open co-streaming of the show.
