Twitch Global Emote

DBstyle is tied to Danny B., the video game composer behind Super Meat Boy, Binding of Isaac and Crypt of the NecroDancer, whose X handle is @dannyBstyle. It is one of the oldest emotes: in January 2012 a viewer listed it among 'New stream monster technology' next to BloodTrail, TinyFace, BibleThump and FrankerZ.

Danny B. never posted about it himself, but others treated it as his. Game developer Kyle Pulver told him in 2013: 'You have a fucking emoticon man you can do whatever you want FrankerZ Kappa DBstyle', and viewers tagged him when they 'did my best impression of the DBstyle emote'. Why he got an emote was never explained. He did appear on Destructoid's Justin.tv streams, the same circle the JonCarnage emote came from.

In chat DBstyle mostly shows up as spam and hype, and among fans of Danny B.'s music, for example around NecroDancer streams.
