Twitch Global Emote

JonCarnage is named after Jon Carnage, whose X bio reads 'Founding Team Member of @Twitch & @Destructoid'. It is one of the very first emotes, announced in March 2011 with two others: 'Justin TV has some friendly new faces! Type "PicoMause" "JonCarnage" and "MrDestructoid" into JTV chat and see what happens! :D' That post came from MASH Tactics, a Destructoid show featuring Jon Carnage, and MrDestructoid carries Destructoid's name, so the trio celebrated Destructoid and its people.

Jon Carnage was a familiar on-camera Twitch figure: on Twitch's PAX 2012 panel, part of 'our team @djWHEAT @SeltzerPlease @JonCarnage' at E3 2013, and host of Twitch's E3 'Pre Pre Show'. Viewers jokingly blamed site problems on the staffer ('Make @JonCarnage fix it #Kappa'), and Northernlion once proposed 'a 24-hour livestream where we try to get JonCarnage to surpass Kappa in emote popularity'. In chat it mostly turns up in long strings of classic emotes.
