Twitch Global Emote

Kappu arrived on 30 March 2017 in a batch of eleven new global emotes, most with Japanese-style names: KonCha, PunOko, TehePelo, InuyoFace, Kappu, BigPhish, SabaPing, TearGlove, BegWan, ThankEgg and ArigatoNas. Twitch never explained the set, and viewers were left guessing where it came from.

The name is one letter off Kappa, and chat paired the two from the first week ('Kappa Kappu Kappa Kappu'), using Kappu as another sarcasm marker. Twitch never said it was meant as a Kappa spin-off. Early reactions were mixed: '@Twitch Kappu ?? Really?? KAPPU???'
