Twitch Global Emote

OpieOP is the face of Jason 'Opie' Babo, an early Twitch employee from the Justin.tv and early Twitch years. The emote is a cropped photo of his face. 'Opie' is his nickname, and 'OP' is gamer shorthand for 'overpowered', which makes a punchy chat code: OpieOP. Over his career Babo also worked at Own3D, Blizzard and Machinima and was part of the World of Warcraft guild Ensidia, and in 2017 he became General Manager of the esports organization Method.

OpieOP arrived in December 2012 in a batch of new faces together with 4Head, FailFish, HotPokket and SoonerLater; one viewer wrote 'soonerlater and opieop best new faces'. Twitch listed it among its Top Global Emotes of 2017.
